We made it to Sioux Falls today, but no matter what direction, east or south, the 20-30 MPH wind insisted on coming from the right side and blowing us into the other lane.  We changed drivers every 60 miles as that wind just wore us out after an hour of battling it.  I hope tomorrow is better, we still have to get thru Iowa which is also can be very windy, but nothing like the Dakotas.  MH is running like a top, but using gas like there is no tomorrow. we made 5 MPG today in this wind, almost a 2 MPG drop from the day before when there was no wind.  OH Well such is the RVers lot. LOL  But it sure beats a S&B any day.

Great advice Pat, there were times we were down to 50 MPH trying to stay on the road, so I know that speed was not out problem.  Hopefully today (Sat) will be better now that this gully washer is going to be over with.  Will make cleaning the windshield easier in the morning.

I've heard its good to keep your tanks (water, gas etc...). topped off in those windy conditions. Safe Travels Russell & Berniece. Lets us know where the best hole in the wall eateries are. I think the days of 4 eggs and steak for 3 bucks are gone...

Boy are they ever, out in the middle of no where we eat in a diner and the  of us got charged $50 for 2 hamburgers and 1 order of chicken strips (4 med sized).  This trip the food budget has taken a greater hit than the gas budget.  only once did we pay $2.89 for gas, the rest of the time it has been in the $2.40 to $2.59 a gallon.  So our excess gas budget is now feeding our food budget -- pun intended LOL.

It's for sure not cheep to eat these days, I got a subway sub today a bag of chips and a soda was over eleven bucks. I can't imagine being out on the road and paying that for to many meals. No wonder Jarred lost all that weight eating subways subs. probably worried his self skinny about how much it was costing him. Keep up the humor and enjoy the ride.
