Have a 89 Warrior with dual wheels in the back, air ride and shocks. The rig sits level. When I hit a good sized bump you hear a big bang from the rear. Am wondering if the air bags are doing their job but the shocks might need replacing.Anyone have any ideas?
I’d go underneath and look for rub spots and see If I could move or shake anything that shouldn’t move.
FWIW - in 2018 I replaced all shocks with high end ones and added two leaves to each side of the springs and had the springs rebent at the same time on my ‘87 Sunrader Shorty. It drove/drives like a new vehicle. if you have doubts about your shocks or if the springs are anywhere near flat I’d make the investment if I could. I got the springs locally and got shocks online from Summit Racing.
I’d had a problem in Newfoundland and decided not to drive across Labrador in 2017. Went back in 2018 and drove across Labrador West to East then back through Newfoundland. Jim in MInnesota.
Just an update if anyone is interested. Took the RV to my mechanic with the problem. He took one look at the rear end and hooked up the air hose to the unit. He added a few pounds of air to the rear shocks and the rear of the RV came up. He saved me a ton of money and proved how honest he was.
