Doyle, noticed that you asked about get togethers on the gulf coast in the fall. I live south of Jackson, Ms. and go every Oct., usually the last weekend to Cruisin the Coast. Its a great week of thousands of muscle cars, antiques, etc. coming to the coast for "Cruisin",. This lasts for an entire week and ends on a sunday morning. I think the Dates are 10-2/10-10, If you are interested in that sort of thing, just google "cruisin the coast 2010". It involves cars in all the small towns and along the beach. There are campsites everywhere and a lot of campers just park in the vacant lots. There are lots of vacant areas since Katrina.
