    Welcome Carl,

It is nice to have someone else so close, we are up in Gosnell, AR, just 75 miles north of you. I hope you enjoy being on this forum as much as I have.

I was looking at some pics on the internet of the Bendix Lifetime, it is quite a wonderful looking motorhome.  DW and I have an 87 Southwind. It sat for about 5 years before we got her and the mice raised havoc with the wiring and the heating ducts. But I have gotten that part under control. Had to seal one window that leaked and ruined the wall, and now both AC units have quite working. The front one is leaking rain inside through the vents which I take it to mean that it is rusted out from age. So I will be pulling down the ceiling around it and reinforcing the roof with either steel or heavy aluminum square tubing, putting in new insulation and new ceiling panels. This should push the roof back up to stop the birdbath effect around the ac unit and then install a new Dometic unit to replace the dead Coleman, which is the original AC unit. It would be nice to get 29 years out of this Dometic. But that is probably asking too much of it considering we have done more traveling with the old girl in the past 2 years than the POs did in 10 years. They averaged a little over 1000 miles a year with her whereas we have put almost 15000 miles on it in 2 years.

If you have any pics of your restoration of your Bendix Lifetime please share them. All of us on GORV really enjoy seeing the process one goes through to breath life back into a vintage RV.
