Tell us a little About Yourself
Dear husband and I both recently retired and bought our first motorhome--84 Winnebago Itasca. We are finding out they can be a money pit but traveling is in our blood.
By the way, your Winnebago seems to be built on the Chevy P30 chassis, with the 454 engine. That would be identical to my chassis, just one year older. Have you had any particular problems with that engine? That engine is notorious for vapor-lock and "hot-start" problems (engine won't start when hot) -- both are related to the heat the engine produces.
With the exception of those two problems, and having replaced the rear air bags, mine drives great. The only complaint is the fuel cost ... I average 6.7 mpg.
Thanks, we still haven't figured out what we're going to do with the "cockpit" area, especially the engine cover. I'm open to suggestions at this point. I get some more pics up shortly
