this is a 1971 rectrans discover25,built on a dodge truck chasis, from our research on the internet, these were only made 3 years,'71,'72,'73. stories differ on how many so i'll say as many as 3000 were built, we bought this motorhome in november of 2012,and been working on it every since ,made 6 trips this year to family within 150 miles, planning on longer trip next year,i enjoy workin on it as much as i do going in it. we bought it after it sat for 9 years in a back yard and 3 years at a storage facility before that,we've not had and real major problems with engine, but have replaced lot of external parts,we enjoy going camping, and sometimes bringing kids or grand kids.we're planning on longer trips, just this being our first year in it, tended not to wander too far.put bout 1500 miles on it/

Looks like a great unit .It has the same 413 engine as my empress, same grill too!

Holy crap I'm surprised at how well the engine ran .Doesn't skip a beat even with the Thermoquad from my dads dart on there .Transmisson kick down isn't hooked up so I have to shift it manually,no biggie.Right now I have the original holley off because the guy before me drove it with no air cleaner on it sucked in alot of dust,so needs a rebuild. I haven't really figured out mpg but I  figure around 10 -12 too.should be better with a rebuilt carb!

yeah shocks make a huge difference for ride for sure .All mine are pretty good ,the leaf springs I have on the front need a good rearc, they are really badly arched the wrong way right now .I have a set of rubber air bags for the front that should cure that 'tippy' feeling it has right now. Mine is going to get some new motor mounts too they are looking pretty squishy .I can still go down the road at  55 mph pretty comfortably .With the  little bit of suspension work on the front it will be a dream to drive. The steering box on mine was adjustable also ,my dad showed me that, made a big difference in the steering play along with some grease in all the steering components did wonders.I can't wait to drive it after I get the springs rearced maybe another leaf added too and the air bags in .It will be wonderful for our very curvy mountain hwy's up here in the north.
