Here's my bud's '87. He says he got the original orange and "colonial white" from Tiffin.

I don't know what he paid, but it was definitely more than your method.

As I look again, there's a chunk missing out of mine. No way that shrunk. None of the other stuff did.

I'd like to repaint the nose on mine, but I don't want to lose the original Allegro decal. I've thought about having one custom made but one-offs are expensive.

Really? I thought I bought the last 2 "Allegro" logo vinyl transfers from them, considering the condition of the Avery label sheets. I couldn't imagine they still had rolls of orange trip strip. My way is much cheaper with white 100' rolls at $16 then fixer and orange spray paint at another $20. yes, the trim does shrink if you don't watch out how you cut it and install. I still have to install those aluminum end caps I repainted last year....

Apparently you can still buy the orange strip from Allegro. Most of mine was gone, and what wasn't gone was sun-faded and shriveled. So I went with black. But a friend of mine with an immaculate '87 Allegro 26' bought the right stuff for his. I noticed in that pic that it looks like some of my black trim is missing. It can't be because I installed it in one, long piece. So it must be shrinking, too.

Danial, I had to chuckle a bit on your method of getting that orange strip. When I redone the steps on the old Palace I wanted to paint Welcome on the top step. Not one for hand stenciling letters I bought a packet of 3" letters and used the same method and probably the same color. Good news is it's been a couple years and they are still orange and looking good.

In order to get the orange trim back on the Allegro I bought 200' of white 1" vinyl trim and sprayed it with flex primer then a good couple of coats of orange Fusion paint between two of my trees. I nailed one end up on one tree and stretched it out to the next one about 100' away.

I think as they moved deeper into the 1980s the outside appearance started to get more interesting. I did have orange stripes but I replaced them with black.

It climbs the ramps just fine, but I do have a downhill advantage there.

I may try to semi-level off a spot for it next year. In the meantime I can almost walk under the back of it :-)

Makes it easier to inspect and repair Jim, I've had to block that high at some of the state parks in Ohio. I could never figure out why they couldn't level a slot before they pave it. LOL The Riggs looking Good!

Jim, how an earth did you ever get your MH to pull up those blocks? I have tried to do that with my Southwind with the 454 and all it does is roar, it will not pull up the blocks. Did you sneak in a shift kit in the tranny so it does not slip so much??? LOL

Hey Jim! What's up with your Allegro? You don't have the blatant Tiffin advertising that I have on both sides with the BIG Allegro lettering on the middle brown racing stripe on the rear part. I was surprised "Allegro" wasn't blazoned on the roof somehow. Also, no orange trim strips?? Maybe your model was the stealth model version.
