yea, remove it-box it up- ship to me for safe keeping!!!

I hope you can keep it and get it working, it may work just fine as it is, I would try and see if it can be taken apart and cleaned, look and see if it the chimney is plugged up with a birds nest, I am guessing as old as it is it may not have the safety features such as a thermo coupler
defiantly worth trying to make operable again
what model and manufacturer is it? I sure would like to find one myself.
