Thanks! It's a blast to drive - I just need to be more confident about the work I did to it. I installed the engine and tuned it. When it failed, everything I could have possibly done wrong went through my head. Turns out it wasn't something I did - it was something I didn't do (replace the fuel filter). Once I get the fridge back in I'm going to venture out again.

any way Jim good luck on putting that BIG TOE out there. i have the same fears after she has sat for couple months. there old and cranky and seriously moody until she gets loosened up and then she takes off and let the good times roll. later!!!!!!!

Yeah my mind went right to the fuel pump. Everything else was new (including the carb, which I also suspected0 - but I forgot about that filter. Being stuck in the middle of the road in the behemoth has made me a bit gun shy. I made the trip I had intended to make after I repaired it, but it's only a few miles. I need to venture out a bit further to gain some confidence.

its funny how we over think the smallest things. i immediately go to the worst case scenario, or the most expensive scenario.i have a hand painted sign that says KISS. stands for KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID. helps me to start with the obvious. long time ago i would have put in new fuel pump, fuel regulator, new filters, new hoses and fittings, and eventually new carb, and would contemplate converting to propane or rocket fuel. since i'm not divorced, her sign worked. auto stores saw me coming they say cha-ching, cha-ching, hes got another project. anyway glad that it was only a fuel filter and you got a spare. excellent

Fuel filter was clogged. $3.98. I bought 2.

This is my RV at a local elementary school about a mile from my house. Why? Because that's where it decided to stop running. It was clearly not getting gas. I thought maybe it was out of gas so my dad brought me some. It made it about half a mile before it quit again. This time for good. It broke down on a narrow road and despite my best efforts was blocking an entire lane of travel. After about an hour of screwing around with it, and help from a concerned citizen, I was able to get it going. It's not drawing fuel from the fuel tank (again). The random guy that came out to help gave me a gallon of gas in a jug and a coat hanger. I tied the jug to the frame, dipped the fuel feed into it and was off. I got it home and am plotting next steps. Generator runs fine so I don't think it's the pickup. Filter might be clogged...but why?
