thanks guys, appreciate the input!! I do have more headroom and it looks better overall. less weight to drag around is a plus.
I took a friends trailer out to Ca. last year, ( My doubles journey). He had double bunks in the back left corner of his trailer.. His became a catch all, not really organized etc. I got in there and removed his upper bunk, freeing up some **headroom for him. He uses the lower bunk for a lounging couch, and when he stands up he doesn't ring his bell. As far as support,,, No, it really isnt. I looked over the structural integrity of the walls etc, and there was no difference, just about 80 lbs of upper bunk removed.
And as Pat stated,, less weight to drag around.
didn't have funds for a full restoration so doing what I can as I am able to.
I don't plan on replacing upper bunk which sits above front and side windows so that we can have more head room when sitting and also not worry about someone falling on us while sleeping:). but now I am wondering if it is needed for reinforcement for outter shell? any input would be appreciated.
