Old Roof Removal
Front Bunk area, still removing roof. You can see a PO added 2x4s on the inside to support the roof. Across the top above these 2x4s were 1x2 steel tubing, and they had carriage bolts going through sandwiching the roof in between. It actually was holding up rather well, other than the leaks had caused everything to rot.

The original roof was a mix of Styrofoam sheeting and some plywood mixed in for support and then sandwiched between paneling and aluminum. Winnebago called this a "Thermopanel". At one point the roof sagged, probably due to leaks and the PO installed metal 1x2 steel tubing across the top, and right under the steel tubing was a 2x4, both of which you can see in the picture. With the original roof sandwiched between them, he bolted them together. There were 4 placed where they did this, then they beefed up the air conditioner area with some metal angle as well. Had it not leaked, it would of held up, thought a bit ugly.
