Nice TOYota,,,, 77 was a good year, and that 20 R is a BEAST work horse.
You mentioned it had a 4 speed,,,,,, If you want to squeeze a couple more miles per gallon,,a 5 speed will slide right up under there,, no fabricating,, That extra gear (over drive) comes in handy on a long stretch and drops the rpm's down. (F.Y.I. The 20 R and 22 R are the same engine block,, with 1 being a 2.0 litre and the other a 2.2 litre, and the bolt pattern and transmissions are the same on both). Engine parts on the Toyota 4 bangers are interchangeable up till 1982, when they reconfigured a few parts and acc's.
Ok, sorry for rambling on,,, But that is a very sweet Sun Raider, with full fiberglass shell,, which will give you years and years, along with miles and miles of memories,, Take pics of your progress on the interior and share with the members here on GORV.... and again,, Welcome. L.W.
