Tell us a little About Yourself
I've been an RV enthusiast for 10 years. I am 55 years young and love the RV lifestyle! Finally, after 31 years in the Corporate world, I was serendipitously impacted by downsizing. I determined that the next "job" would be something that I loved to do so I became an RV salesman. I am the sales manager at Jody's RV in Greenwood, SC (the best RV dealer in the US!) and am loving every minute of it.

A Worthy Project to Consider Supporting - Even if only with advice from some "seasoned" restoration experts!

It's been a while since I posted anything to the GORV website. We've been busy trying to get the business back on track after all of the hullabaloo in Washington these days. At any rate, I found this project about some young ladies at a school in Texas who are studying to become engineers in various fields of work and I was intrigued by the possibilities that some of us in the GORV community might be able to assist them, if not with donations, then possibly with advice and…

An Easy to Build Leveling Ramp

We've all been there. You back into the campsite, disconnect the unit from the tow vehicle, level things up front to back, using the front jack(s) and drop the stabilizers, only to discover that the unit is two bubbles out of level from side to side. Common sense (and your user's manual) tells you that your unit and it's components will function better and last longer if set up nice and level in both directions.

Therein lies the rub. Unless you own one of the more expensive motor… Continue

RV'ing is STILL a Bargain ... Even with Soaring Fuel Costs!

With gas prices hovering around the $3.50 mark in the Southeastern United States, many people (including some seasoned campers) seem inclined to limit the use of their recreational vehicles to save a few coins. While, there is no doubt that escalating fuel prices have caused all of us to take a long look at our driving habits and their effect on our balance sheet, much of this thinking is simply knee-jerk reaction to the changing gas station signage and the "bad" news that is constantly pouring… Continue

Hey Pat! Believe it or not, we've actually seen a bit of an increase in traffic. No perceivable increase in actual sales as of yet but at least people are stirring. They're starting to figure out that RV'ing is the ONLY way to vacation without mortgaging the home place.

Dad actually did sell his unit a couple of months ago. Had to give away the shed he kept it under to do it, but she's gone. Sad day. Wish he could still go camping with us but Mom's health is just no good these days.

Keep praying for us and have a GREAT trip to the Rockies! Beautiful country that.

Thanks, Pat. It is truly a nice rig. If Mom was still able, he wouldn't think of selling but as a wise man once told me ... life happens.

Barry, thanks for adding Ken's Potomac. It sure looks like a clean newer rig. Feel free to add a link to a landing page that shows interior pics if you like. We just got our new and 3rd ford transmission in the rig so we're headin to the mountains to test it North of Fort Collins, Colorado... about 1.6 hours north of Denver. pat

Welcome Barry! Thanks for the campgrounds. We may draw on your rv experience once in awhile, particularly for bumper pulls. Lots of conflicting info out ther about bumper pulls and hitches, sway bars, etc. Friends of our are considering buying a bumper pull, but are not sure if they can attach and have the strength for the load equalizing arms, for example. Maybe put up some stuff in the Forum section when you can. Keep on goin down the road. pat broke down in Fort Collins, Co... blown transmission on Jayco 05 f-450
