Doyle, noticed that you asked about get togethers on the gulf coast in the fall. I live south of Jackson, Ms. and go every Oct., usually the last weekend to Cruisin the Coast. Its a great week of thousands of muscle cars, antiques, etc. coming to the coast for "Cruisin",. This lasts for an entire week and ends on a sunday morning. I think the Dates are 10-2/10-10, If you are interested in that sort of thing, just google "cruisin the coast 2010". It involves cars in all the small towns and along the beach. There are campsites everywhere and a lot of campers just park in the vacant lots. There are lots of vacant areas since Katrina.
Two great suggestions. Thanks. We have been up to Cheaha but never to camp. I think that will be high on the list. Coleman Lake is certainly convenient, too. We will check it out. I enjoy your pics on the website. I haven't posted any yet, but I guess I need to. Mostly what I have now, however, are pictures that show junk everywhere as we have been in a continual construction phase for what seems like forever. Do ya'll camp a lot? You aren't full-timers are you?
Hey, Doyle! I think Tallapoosa is a great little town! I have been there quite a few times. We sold a Coachmen fifth wheel and bought an old 1990 Rockwood motorhome. It was kinda grungy but we could see the possibilities. Soooooo, we undertook a complete renovation which is not yet complete. It has been lots of fun doing it (expensive too) but now we are anxious to get back on the road. Do you have a favorite campground in Alabama? We want to make some short trips first--to make sure everything works!!!! Happy Trails! Kathy Lowry
