Tell us a little About Yourself
I've had this deep, churning desire in my gut for years! To just get in an RV and GO! Live on the road... move from place to place, making new friends. Maybe do some paintings in each place....

My partner isn't quite on the same page as i am and would be worried for me if i took off and did it by myself (which i'd love to do)!

It's not going to happen any time soon anyway. No money, no retirement savings or pensions... But it's still a dream. If i did somehow come up with the money to buy a nice vintage trailer (& truck to pull it) though... man, i'd be out of here!!

Hi Amber, just checking in with you to see how you're doing.  I'm not trying to be nosy, well, not too much anyway.....but do you have any thoughts on making this happen for you?  I hate to say this, but I'm so glad to hear from someone who's in the same financial situation as me..... the financial aspect of it is very worrisome to me.  Most people seem to be pretty well off and most seem to have partners.  I was actually thinking of finding something second-hand, getting it checked out really well, selling everything I've got for cash back-up and taking off hoping for the best.  I want to take a year to get organized to make this happen but I don't know now.  Now I'm worried.  I wish there were some older women out there who did this at this late age......what I'm trying to say, is, I guess....I wish there was someone out there in my same exact situation so I could see what's coming...someone who has to worry about money, is solo and would have the same day to day worries like me. I have several dogs I'll be taking, I'll probably end up boondocking alot so the dogs won't be a problem  in any campgrounds.  Anyway, excuse my ramblings, I'm obviously thinking too much.

Thanks for friending me, Amber!  We've all got our dreams, right?  If only money grew on trees.....anyway, I've got a way to go but I'm writing down every single bit of advice I get so I'll be prepared when that DAY comes.   That might be a good idea, to team up with experienced people......Helen

Hi Amber and welcome! We love BC and have not explored nearly any of your area... yet! Sounds like you are certainly our type of folks with some adventure in your soul, like us! If you ever want to get a GREAT trailer to camp in try member VK's site. They are just across the border from you and they do frame up complete, ready to go restorations... we had the honor of visiting their shop and some restored vintage trailers. Also, on the left of our home page is a link to a blog of retired BC folks who are rving in Mexico and drive down from Vancouver?? island ever year. Interesting ready.
Also, did you know that some people are happy just to have vintage travel trailers towed out of their yards to get rid of them? Just a though for you if your on a tight budget. Expect lots of elbow grease, but it is dooooable!

Anyway, welcome!
pat, Linda & lady dog
