Hello, my name is Kevin Town and I am a proud owner of a 1973 Metzendorf Travel Trailer. I am 40 years old and I have restored my camper myself. I love to go camping with my trailer as it gets many responses when I arrive with it, it has been a lot of fun to own.

What it cost me to build my own camper & how long it took me

I built a small camper that measures 6' wide x 9' long and is 5' tall. Though I can't stand fully upright in it, I wanted a lower profile camper for fuel economy and to load my canoe uptop. I started with a next to new heavy duty utility trailer that I purchased locally from Craigslist for $300.00. The trailer is a 5' x 8' trailer. Just concerned whatever clips I tried to install would rip right out...can you advise what type of clip...or did you have to re-inforce the roof location where they got installed?  I've heard about some anti-sway bar/device...guess I wanted to hear from others with small trailers that have dealt with that.  Thanks!
