I have coveted a Toyota Chinook since I first saw them in the mid-70s. Small, cozy, convenient, easy on the gas/petrol/diesel and able to park in a standard space....in other words, perfect in every way. Currently, there are comparable RVs being made in Europe, particularly the Citroen Romahome. Oh, yeah, about me...sister, daughter, best friend, aunt, elementary teacher, gran to two terrific girls, travel to UK every summer, not too far from retirement, "square peg", independent......

Hi Marsha,Romahomes are very small,no shower space, and generally pricey.I had a Auto Sleeper.Nice RV.you can park in a standard space but still plenty of room aboard.Insurance can be had, expensive.Go on line for a quote.I did what they call wild parking.I would just find a spot and park.Never had a problem. They are pretty RV friendly over there. If you have more questions give me a call 206-817-2909 or email me sailingdogflynn@gmail.com

Try Claz.org and there are about 40 of them available from $1200 to $12000. Its like a nationwide search of Craigs list. Put Toyota Motorhome in the search box and no specific location.

Welcome Marsha, Those little Toyotas are out there. I see them on Craigs list occasionally for a few thousand dollars. Hope you find one and get going!

Bathsheba and maiden voyage...more adventures planned,

Bathsheba Update: 12.03.12

The trip to the mechanic ended better than I anticipated. Two new batteries, new belts, tune-up, fluids, new wiper blades, installation of my license plate (which coincidentally has three letters and three numbers…..wait for it…the letters are SHE. I love it when the cosmos conspires to support me!) All for less than $200. The downside is that the mechanic told me She has lots of things that were jerry-rigged and he is concerned about me driving long…

Check the Toyota RV off of my bucket list. Done!

Bathsheba%20in%20the%20beginning.docx

I finally did purchase the '84 Toyota RV - Sunrader that I have wanted so long off of ebay. "Bathsheba" was delivered while I was in Europe in July.  Thank goodness I have friends who were willing to meet the carrier and drive her home for me -where she sat for eight weeks until I returned to the US.

Since them I have spent as many…
