Love traveling in my 1971 Apollo motorhome. It has a 413 CI Dodge engine and have put about 30,000 miles on it in the past three years.

Just got back from a short hop trip for the Christmas holiday. We call them mini vacations. Did not have any set driving plans, just stayed close to home to save gas money and ended up in Paridise, CA. We still love camping in our motorhome anyway. Rain on the roof and "I love a Mystery" on the radio. A trip to Oregon for Thanksgiving was our "big" vacation for the year. The motorhome ran like a champ and it was a great trip. Lots of fun with family.

Sorry I asked a dumb question---I just read your profile and it says where you live.  I am still learning the ropes on here and don't know how to get around as well as I'm sure I should.

So you vacationed in Paradise---do you also live in Ca?  I do too hopefully not much longer though--will be moving to the Sedona/Prescott Az area if I can ever trade away this mh for a small trailer.  I looked at a motorhome once in Paradise and it was quite cozy there.  I like Oregon too but not completely sure I'd want to live there--have been considering it as well.  Cheers,

I just put on the road a 1974 cruse air class A motorhome with a chrysler 440, I am glad to hear you guys get 8 miles to a gallon, hopfully Ill get the same. I drove my motorhome to work twice and the gauge fell from 1\4 to E to work and back is about 30 miles I got a little afraid. I still have to install the speedo cable so I know how fast Im going then I can also gauge the miles per gallon Ill get. You guys have a goergous apollo looks well maintained, are you guys the orignal owners? or did you get the rig from the orignal owners? I always found it interesting to know the history of a vintage motorhome. well anyway Ill taulk to you later happy travleing.

You've had a busy summer with Ms Apollo. Sounds like you need a good rv camping trip to relax!! :)

In my hot rod days we use to cruise Mel's Drive-in in Sacramento and race on I-80 north of Roseville. 2 cars would slow down and delay traffic and we'd race the 1/4 mile to the fence post we'd painted white. Ah, those were the (illegal) days!

Hi, Marty. How's the Apollo doing this summer? Is the engine holding up ok?

Any good rv trips in Northern Cal or Oregon? we went to washington state and are now back at the cabin... about a 5,000 mile haul. totalled the rig and trailer in Colorado on the way back so no camper for now.

ya, well that's the best way to do it. a little at a time and have some fun rving.

i us to go to grants pass every year and fish below the gold ray damn at a place called the we-ask-u-inn. they only charged $5 a day for the bus then. Now it's probably a condo project or something.

anyway, i'll keep an eye out for your pictures as time goes along.

Hey, Marty thanks for joinin our little classic rv online group. You gotta check out David Visman's pictures of his sand rail, GMC bus converions and Kenworth(?) big rig camping conversion. He's up the hill from you in Placerville. See also Sierra Trailer Restoration in Nevada City. And BE SURE to click and watch "Scooter Jim's" videos of his VW powered sand rails at Glamis in So Cal. I grew up in Loomis so it IS a small world. Now at our "base camp" in Oklahoma when not on the road rving. Welcome again. And feel free to post LOTS of pics and stories. Love your hot rod photos on you home page. pat, linda & lady dog
