Mines from 26 years working under ground in the coal mine. Your work zone is just how I have explained my range. I still try to do some tinkering from time to time but I have more hardware in my back than in my tool box. I still love camping and my old Travelcraft made it fun again.

I feel your pain Jack. I've got to to the point I don't even like to change a flat tire. If I can plug it and drive to a tire shop that's what I do. It's not fun getting older.

Thanks so much for your help . We actually had a scary experience losing one off the booster while driving. We could not find one if our life depended on it. But we where able to rebuilt it and got back on the road. Thank you for your knowledge and time.

Hey Michael,

If you have a schematic that is relevant for an '85 HR, may I please have a copy?  Right now, that is one of my "challenges", tracing everything and trying to see what runs where.

Thanks,

-Stu

Yes Dodge had the motorhome industry from the late 60's until about 1980, when chrysler had financial problems in 1979 and the government bailed them much like they bailed out the banks lately, the loan board dictated to them that they had to drop their motorhome chassis line as well as their meduim duty truck line. I dont know the reason why though being that 85% of motorhomes or more sold in the 1970's were Dodge's. Though class B motorhomes continued to be made through the 80's and 90's simply because they were only made on a regular van.

That is a really cool motorhome, love these vintage Dodge's, Im currently restoring a 1973 Dodge (Dunhill) class-C that had one foot in the grave when I got it, It's nice to see there are others out there who are saving these American classics from the junk yard and giving them new life. any mechanical question's feel free to ask I know these Dodge's in and out! Best of luck....Doug

Lynn, there are many comments on painting your vintage trailer and even some videos in the Forums and Favorites links of left of the home page.
Maybe do the paint prep and masking yourself and have some good shop paint it inexpensively.Or even do it yourself!

Thanks for your encouragement Matthew! I got it done, and the axle, and new tires pulled perfectly, now time for sanding and trying to find someone who will paint this good old rv!
