The red/white/blue blocks were made for a group called ‘Quilts for Valor’ individual quilters make a block or two and gives them to the group and there they are made into quilts to be given to returning soldiers in hospitals.

The wall hanging quilt is of two trout swimming in a creek bed and was a surprise for Pat on his birthday.  I cut the preprinted fabric and sewed one trout on top of the other, then framed both.  I ‘trapunto’ stuffed each fish and using variegated green thread, I hand-quilted the piece and quilted around each fish and some of the rocks.  Pat really likes it.
