It has been a while since we were here. Thought we had better share the latest. After 17,000 miles...slow miles. The 318 gas engine is out and a new to us 6BT cummins (1st gen 12 valve) with a 4 speed allison trans is mostly in. A bit more work on the new front cross member/ front engine mount and plumbing, wiring, drive line and exhaust.

So we made our annual trip to the Homestead in Nevada and decided we needed more battery power. The only place we had to add batteries was where the Gen set lives. So out comes the old Onan and after some box repair, it needed it anyways. Two 8D batteries and a Honda 2000 suitcase to run the AC if we need it. And a 130 watt solar panel to charge batteries.

Well we have been busy with building a way to carry and erect our vending tent. See our blog post How to hide a Cabana. Getting the ridge pole up was a major snag for the two of us and as much as Luke would like to help, his lack of opposable thumbs lets him only bark encouragement. We did our shakedown cruise this weekend. First time out this year and checking out brake, exhaust and carb work. First time towing the bullfrog our samari. We took off Thursday after work and headed to Diamond lake. Got there a bit after dark but just a stop over for the night.
