RV travels Part 5 Utah

Part 5, Utah.
Now if your not familuar with the great state of Utah,,, It is a state all of its own.
It has platue's and canyons and majestic mountains at just about every turn. I got my rest in *Nutah,, The Nevada ,,Utah border, and did a full truck and trailer inspection. I did notice that ice block that had formed on the under belly of the 5th is slightly smaller then it was when I first checked it. Traveling with the temps in the teens, doesnt pursuade the ice to…

Rv travels Part 4

Part 4.
Feeble attempts at the drive in the snow travels. First of all,, RV's do not belong on the road, in snow... its just not right.
Donners pass is a real good example of where NOT to travel as winter starts to set in. I had stayed over in Modesto Ca.. Right in the heart of Ca. fruit basket, and cows,
Yess,,,,, cows,, from Tulare to Modesto is a vast land of dairy cows,, Kinda like Texas,, Ya roll your window down, stick your head out the window and…

1973 Nomad by Randall Adams

As the weather is starting to turn cooler here in South Carolina, I wish I had build a pole barn years ago to work on my projects inside. I have removed everything of the top of the Nomad camper and repaired the holes. the vent pipe for the kitchen sink will go out the side of the camper as it will be the only plumbing in the camper. I am doing away with the inside bathroom and replacing the toilet with a port-a-potty for move room and camp grounds have public showers and restrooms. the AC…

The Roving Craft Shop is in full swing.

One of the reasons I chose to convert a 40' bus as a single traveler is because I wanted to build a workshop in the bus.  The last eight feet of the bus is a craft/work shop where I play and work.  I have a heat press for tee shirts and coffee mugs and other items I can sublimate.  I have a vinyl cutter/plotter where I make vechicle graphics.  I have a small wood lathe among other toys and tools.

It's mostly to calm an over active, restless mind.  But I can and do make a…

RV travel humor Part 3

Part 3.
Tehachapi Ca.  You ever wonder what a mountain grade is? Noooo, not those little bumps in the road through Arizona,, of course some of those can get a tad steep.
I'm talking about the grade from the depths of haities. I know California allows *medical Herbs,, But I think before it was some what legal,, Someone back in the 50's or so, was smoking some of that when they designed this grade. (They must have had their poster board out and crayons, and kind…

help with generator

my generator is an onan 6.5 2 cyl. I got it started but when it warms up, it sputters and stalls. Is this just a choke adjustment? if i hold the throttle open it runs a little longer, but still stalls out. i have removed the carb and cleaned it out.

replacing wall

I got the galley out and slid it forward so i can get to the wall behind it. the paneling and foam core has rotted to mush. shouldn't be too difficult to replace it with some rigid foam paneling, and recover with wood paneling…

Blogging and its frustration......

Just send 45 minutes creating a blog post, only to have it disappear when I tried to go back from the preview page.  We editors are the most unforgiving form of publishing.  Next time I will compose it in a permanent file and cut and paste.  Back later.

RV travel humor part two

part 2..
After comming to a stop and the wife giving me that what the heck look, after bumping her head off the window, and me acting all sweet and innocent about it,, I say,, pit stop.
As I get ready to get out of the truck,, I get the Ole* rolling eyes and raised eyebrow look,
(common guys,, you all have witnessed that look at least once, possibly more if your like me).
Ok,, I finally get out of the truck,, with eyes glaring through my…

RV travel humor. part one

I did the precheck, tires, cords, hoses, etc, secured loose items and shut and locked the door. Jumped in the truck and off we go for a road trip.... yaaaaa, here we go.

Fired up the ole diesel,, clatter clatter clatter,, diesels aint quiet by no means, so trying to leave the RV park in stealth mode is totally out of the question. I drive slow as to be in Incognito mode and to watch out for the rampant little bunnies running around,, Plus have to look really cool with all…

Continued Part 2 "Ms Queen" The quest for the Ultimate Poo Poo Experience

The Adventure of the Ultimate Poo Poo Experience – WHAAATTT - WOW!!! – I must be crazy to even consider writing about a subject like this. Having nightmarish visions of Robin Williams in the movie “RV’; opening the main dump handle for the first time, I proceeded with caution to subside my comic fears of a nasty experience.  As the story unfolds; we pulled up to one of the more remote full hookup sites last summer (2014) to check out all the systems. We were close enough to town and…

The ongoing adventures with "The Queen" - 72 Dodge Travel Queen

Wow, the warm weather is gone with a winter blizzard bearing down on us, it's time once again to share some stories and how to's. I've decided to write several shorter blogs then one long annual one.

We finally got "The Queen" in better running condition and with all the added bells and whistles we had some amazing "glamping" adventures this season here in…

1970 Wig Wam

I just picked up a 1970 WigWam, quite decent shape!

Not sure if I am going to Retro, sell or just clean it up and use it. I do have the title (ownership).

I am looking for ideas!

Thanks
