Got a new and improved blog as they say....

This one's been active since we got the LH2 (an Allegro '87 class A) and I've been working the bugs out of her. Fun, excitement, travel, drama it's all there.

Take a look and laugh and cry at the stuff we go through.

Have a good one and all the best to you....

I was given a 20' Aristocrat Landliner. Currently doing a full complete rebuild on it. Looking for Vin number since it came with no title or registration paperwork. I found something similar to a VIN not sure. Looking for someone with knowlege. I went with VIN to DMV in Texas and they said they have no record of this and possibly is not the vin. Help!!!

encountering the eclipse

Hey Gang what an experience I am having.
Had an Ark Encounter, almost encountered Mike, haven't encountered Janet but we did see Rock Island. Ruth met Karen who countered with follow me, you can park the night at my place, there is nothing around, you can roam the property, you do have a flash light right?
OK lets…

Some Good...and, Some Bad

First let me start by sharing that we all survived our first overnight camping trip!  By we I mean my mother, the dog, the cat, and myself.  Juno still has a long list of things to do, but we had water, fully working electric, a working toilet, good bedding, a fridge, and mechanically needed to put her through some paces so when I take her back they can try to track down the oil/transmission fluid leak (I think it's the former from the cardboard spots).…

Airstream restore.

Got some good work accomplished today. Im helping a new neighbor in the small park here, put together an older Airstream T.T.,

A little back ground,,,,, the owner bought it in California,,, paid another friend to tow it from Ca. to Texas. The trailer was gutted out except the fried burnt wiring that suffered high voltage in low voltage wire. I.E. running 110/120 volts a/c thru 12 V d/c... not a pretty sight. Anywho... I got two main wire runs down the middle of the trailer from front…

productive day.

A very productive day, considering it was triple digit and I being lazy till 2 in the afternoon.. I had to run a temp power line out to the power ped,, and after getting the RV plug (30 amp) wired in, realize the plug in on the other side of the ped is a 50 amp service, (there are 2 power plug boxes,, one on each side of a 4x4,, 1 being a 30 amp, and 1 being a 50 amp.), Duh,, so yea, I had a brain fert. So, back to the store to get a dogbone adapter,, a 50 to 30 plug, I get it all hooked up…

Hot Diggity Dodge! A level stove, if walls could talk...welcomed visitor..and other things....

I did a test run fitting the stove in a couple nights ago, and it fits level. No more sticking out from the bottom and it's a good tight fit that has no gaps around the edges. YEY! I did a little corner cutting today so it sits back more flush with the counter in the front like it's supposed to. Excuse the little pieces of wood on the wall there, they were just set there out of the way for a minute.…

Progress....Critter Jitters...and Frustration....

I'm glad to read that ya'll have faith in my trudging forward with this.  My faith wains back and forth lately with all of the new opportunities that need a-fixin'. LOL

One of the progresses has been the kitchen counter top ready for a new pretty face.  The new plywood is as level as it's going to get, I'm happy with it. Sooooo much better.  …

Testing my hand strength on a daily basis....Under counter mess clean up progresses...

Ripping out all of that old carpeting under the sink/stove counter proved to be a real challenge...unlike the past challenges with this carpet.Everything in there was on top of it and either nailed or screwed down or both. Of course, rusted and tough to turn screws and nails that the hammer would not fit under to pry them up. Some areas had two layers of carpet. Grrrr...and those corners...OY vey!!

I believe I got it all, after a few scrapes and bruises. LOL

Here's what I started…

moved and settled.

Finally got my required and much needed services hooked back up, A person has to have cable and internet. I made the installers job way easy by having previously wired my own outlets. (having voids in the walls and floors helped). No dangly wires hanging out windows etc.

That was after getting the 5th broke down and moved from point A to point B. Backing into the spot the 1st time was beyond fun,,lol  took 3 attempts, spinning in the gooey slippery Texas mud, and only final try, going…

Just a Quick Rundown of Progress

Lately the pics from camera have been terrible so not going to post any, but did want to at least do a quick update on progress:

-Curtains finished and rehung.  Valance upholstered and that and dinette blind reinstalled

-Dinette -u-shape bench modification finished, and cushion/upholstery finished for that.

-Kitchen backsplash smart tiles installed - only one wall looks like it is melting where I managed to install two sheets at angles.  Instead of using the…

Oh,... go eat some Crow and Clamp up!

Yeah, crow is tasting mighty......yuk today. LOL

Wasn't it me who said that I had zero intention of taking out that stove and sink to fix that countertop?

They're out. The sink came out without too much trouble.  The stove came out later, I had to call my brother to see if he was in town. He helped me get a gas line fitting off that was stucker than stuck. It just wouldn't budge and there was no way to lift that stove out unless it was disconnected.…

Me and Murphy, dealing with the move,

Well Mr. Murphy, (Murphy's Law) sneaks out after lurking in the shadows.

Everything was going smooth,, getting everything all gathered up and stored and packed for a huge journey to another RV park, on the other side of the city, A smaller park, in a quiet country setting, Some say its 40 miles from nowhere, turn left, then left again. While getting everything for the move,, it was a balmy 100 plus degrees, Sun baking down on ya and making you feel like a chocolate chip cookie on  pan…

Aww....now this just isn't fair! The bathroom strikes again....

When I went searching for spongy ceilings in that RV I made a point of testing that bathroom and when I pressed and knocked on it, things sounded and felt just fine. Based on the walls having been rebuilt, I assumed they had replaced the ceiling in there as well. Even the wood around the fan/vent looked great, not stained or soft.

My first mistake was assuming anything, and second only testing one half of it....

I was in there yesterday morning removing trim to get ready for new…

After days and days of surgery, Diggity Dodges' Butt Lift is a complete success.....

........the rear end on this is now worthy of a wolf whistle!

All of the rotted wood has been ripped out and replaced with new lumber.  I had to build frames on the inside walls for the tail lights, the screws for those were just hanging in there on the metal and anchored to nothing but that. The original wood pieces had long since crumbled away. They are now secure and the wiring for them has been organized and clipped for easy access from the outside if needed.

Here's…
