Now your already thinking yup.... water leak,,, But from where? Ok,, heres a quick tip,,,, If its below the window,, the window seal is leaking itself, Usually around the framing... and if its leaking above the window,, roof seam to wall leak,, or a vent or exhaust vent…

I just want to get started!!

So a little back story. I am very very new to RVing!!  I love vintage RVS or I should say anything Vintage. My obsession started a couple of years ago and when I saw some show on TV. (I have no idea the name of)  We love to camp. We don't get to do it often maybe twice a year, but I think that's because sometimes we just want to go for the day or maybe just 2 and the thought of setting up everything and taking it all back down the next day just doesn't appeal to us. So an RV or TT would be…

RV Front suspension

Still working on the old buggy. The inexpensive stabilizer works great. This is a 1985 Chevy G-30 van chassis and am trying to install the Air Lift 1000 in the front coils to level up the front end and ease the loading on the shocks. Their web site says to stuff the bellows in between the gap in the coils, not open enough, and the hole in the lower control arm seems too small also. Is it necessary to remove the lower control arm to install? Any experience with this out there? Thanks C

Ceiling repair

Finally had a warm day, 38 degrees and basically no wind so I got the ceiling tore out and 2 of the panels cut.

Warning about RV Nation. They had the padded vinyl material. Started to order 3 yards of it and when i got into the checkout process, they were going to charge me $201 for shipping on $58 worth of product. Uhmm nope, ain't goona happen.

Found a place called All Vinyl Fabrics. They had a padded marine vinyl. Little more expensive, it cost me $75 but…

Fortuna Pond and Pilot Knob: Boondocking in Anticipation of Crossing the Border

We traveled down to Yuma, Arizona last week, and I wanted to share a couple of places for free camping.  I am traveling with two other RVers that are planning on taking advantage of 'medical tourism'.  Between us we are getting dental work, eyeglasses and medications filled. Los Algodones is very popular for those things with snowbirds.  Many stay near the border crossing at the Que Casino which offers free boondocking, but is crowded and noisy.  We opted to stay further out and try out some…

RV suspension

Looking for a little advice/experience on improving the drivability of  a class C 1985 Mallard. Drives perfect on a smooth road, no traffic & or wind. Trying to sift through the steering stabilizer, shock, Air Lift conundrum becomes baffling after a while. Obviously the suppliers are a great source of info, HUH!

Yours Truly C& D aboard " Adrift". Still on the prowl for September.

The Desert & the Nomads

Incredible week (and a half) out here so far.  I wasn't sure what to expect but despite the isolation, I have to say everything is much more intense than I anticipated.  I don't think I've managed to capture it in photos yet, but the desert is beautiful.  Yes, it's very dry, very rocky, but the play of colors and textures has caught me in awe more than once.…

Made it...

I'm a little slow with my report, but I made my final destination on Thanksgiving, and found "the tribe".  For those of you that don't know, I'm doing my thesis research on solo female RVers and vandwellers.  So while my ultimate destination is the Rubber Tramp Rendezvous (RTR) in Quartzsite, my final physical destination was Ehrenberg, AZ, 17 miles west of Quartzsite.  There, on BLM land the 14 day rule is in effect, but not enforced.

So, many RVers that are going to the two…

Making a rock tamer

So back in August the wife and I were pulling our Argosy to my mother in laws house some 60 miles due north. Unfortunately my wife's father had passed so we were going prepared to stay for the weekend. We didn't leave home until after dark on a Thursday evening. So in a construction zone of a two lane stretch of the journey we ran over what appeared to be a painted 2x6x8 laid across our lane of traffic.…

Road Report #1

I have to say the first leg of my trip, from Asheville, NC to Denver, CO was stressful and there were several times I was close to turning around and packing it in.  Those that I've caught up with on chat have had the dubious honor of providing emotional support.  In addition to the strangeness of sleeping in new places every night, I was dogged by a mechanical issue that still hasn't been resolved (I'm on my fifth mechanic now and just won't know whether the last fix resolved the issue…

And, Liftoff!! Well, Tomorrow...

Had one last day of loose ends to tie up, but tomorrow, after all these months of renovations, I'm ready to go.

Tire pressure good? Check.  Water level in batteries good?  Check?  Fluids good?  Check.  Everything packed, details taken care of, fresh water filled, electronics charged?  Check.  If anything breaks now, it has to be dealt with on the road.

I've been promising interior shots for awhile now.  Remember - being an 84 I felt at liberty to mix it up and…

So Many Questions!

OK. I've been pouring through all available data on my 1985 Pace Arrow G31 and I'm left with a couple questions. These might be make model specific so I hope there's another Pace Owner on here. There are two switches in the bathroom on the cabinet at toilet level. Any idea as to what they are supposed to do? Also instead of two six volt batteries powering the home amenities I have two twelve volts. Is that a problem?
