When I went to dump my black water tank yesterday it seemed to operate much easier than usual. Then I figured out that the push/pull rod had disconnected from the slide valve inside the plastic housing. The thought of forty gallons of ___ spilled under my RV made me stop and "analyze" the situation. After much consideration, I came up with a plan, and I'm very happy to say that it worked! I thought that I would post this and possibly save someone else from the "Black Water Blues".
I found a 20D spike (5" nail) and a drill that was slightly larger in diameter than the spike. I drilled a hole through the plastic slide valve housing on the side opposite the actuating rod. After drilling the hole, I quickly inserted the spike and was able to push the slide valve open, Now, I have to figure out how to fix it, no repair parts or replacements here!
