We have a piece of ground in the Shoshone Mtns. in north central Nevada.  In June we went for a week of absolute peace and quiet.  And some exploring/rock hounding.

Here is camp #1 set up with Tom and Jenny who met us at the Homestead.

Looking South

Looking North

We spent some time exploring and looking for pretty rocks.  The area is covered with mining roads and we brought our new to us little toad with us!

Miles of roads to explore

We tried to get up this hill but at about 10,000 feet our little yeller toad had enough traction but not enough go.  Next year it will be different! ( see "Indian Mary" blog )

Joy checking out a find? Maybe?

Luke checking things from the high ground.

Jenny and Tom could only stay a couple of days so after they left we reset camp.

Camp 2

Last year we rented a backhoe and put in a RV pad.  We were hoping it would grow back and it did.

Our RV pad

Alas, we have to head home to build a tent to hide the Cabana for a pirate event we do in July.

A stop at our favorite campground in NV.  "Virgin Valley Camp"  ( see earlier blog on this camp. )
