Ok.. here we are pert near the middle of February and we have some really weird weather,, seriously like some Twilight Zone stuff. We had some comfy 60's with a few 50's,, Not Hot, not cold, Tolerable tinker weather. Then, Blammmm Arctic cold blast from Siberia,, the do not pass go, do not collect $200 type of weather. Over night dropped to the 20's, Now if you have never spent any length of time in Texas,,, anything below 70 is severe weather conditions,, Like Bib coveralls, Heavy down jacket, snow boots, ear muffs scarf and face mask along with insulated gloves, Thyen of course the temps tease you and climb up into the 40's which doesnt seem bad for winter weather if your in the north,, But it gets better,, Mother nature decides, well it is warm, lets throw in some cold wind and rain. The bam,, back into the teens with highs in the 20 and 30's. So you hunker down and wait it out and within a few days, ya wake up and the house is 80 plus degrees inside because ya had the heater on last night and the outside temps snuck up to 83.. You know the a/c was turned on real quick,,lol And yes, Texas is known for using the a/c during the day and a heater at night at times. Today, Valentines day was a very nice 78 degrees and a bit windy, and for Friday, will be in the 80's,, Sounds awesome huh? Well till Monday, when temps begin their decline again back down to the 40's..I guess winter is going to take its time leaving.I found a good deal on a Ford ranger truck for my youngest daughter in Michigan for a cheap price, because her vehicle decided to bite the bullet on her in the last snow storm. Its a plain jane, manual windows, a/c heat, single cab, nothing fancy. It does come with new brakes and tires (minus the spare,, we need to go pick one up). The ignition switch was being finicky so I changed that out. The next step is installing the Tow bar to tow it up north for her. I thought Harbor freight was a deal on tow bars till I saw that it doesnt come with safety chains,, which H/F wanted another $40 for. I found a better brand on Ebay WITH Safety chains and beefier mounting brackets for $17. cheaper and a better warranty. So after I see my pain dr, and eye doctor and get the go ahead, I plan on making the trip soon,, As long as the weather holds off the freezing rain and heavy snow in Michigan then it will be a road trip. I wont do a bonzai run (24 hr straight drive thru), but will take a good 2 days, maybe 3.
