Every July, Joy and I spend a weekend at the Oregon Country Fair and a week at a Pirate event called "Seadog Nights".  This year they were back to back.  This is our time to make people smile and then play pirate for a week.  We hope you enjoy sharing a tiny bit of our alter ego's.

The Oregon Country Fair is in it's 43 year.  It is held on 450 acres and about 90 thousand people attend over a 4 day run.  Joy and I do two days.  It is a spectacle, you can watch it or be part of it.  We like to be a part of it.  It is the happiest place on earth for a few short days.  Joy is a seamstress and creates all our costumes. For country fair we do the tour of driveways visiting with friends.  And using the free shuttle to go to the fair.  Our goal is to make people smile.  How could seeing a cute Gnome couple not make people smile.  Look in the background of the photos as well.  You just never know what you will see at the country fair.   Please disregard dates on photos, operator error.

Joy and I with some folks who wanted a photo with us.  We get that a lot for some reason?

The stilt people are amazing!  Two of about 30 folks who attend on stilts.

Two more at a stilt person bench.

There was some folks teaching human balancing.  The guy on top had never done this before.

One of many what we call trail musicians.  Some great music.

Marching band and I'm not sure.

One of 7 stages lots of really good music of all kinds.

Tone the Gnome hanging out with some trees.

You truly just never know what you will see here.

And a goodbye to country fair from a cute little kitty.

The other part is Seadog Nights.  Something completely different. The target date for the event is 1700ish Here we are "The Tinkers" of "The Tinkers Emporium".  We sell stuff to hopefully pay for our play time.  Joy wanted the Cabana on site to stay in, with her own bathroom so we created the Emporium to hide the Cabana.  We are the hundred dollar store.  All prices start at 100 dollars and we haggle from there.  If you don't haggle well we will rob you blind!!  We also provide a cooling saloon as the temps are usually 85 to 105 during the day.

We arrive on site and Luke checks it out.

The ridge pole gets up and ready for the top.  And the Cabana is unloaded.

Getting the top up.

The tent top is up. Time lapse 4 hours. Resting with friends. More folks showing up.

Starting on the walls.

The walls are up and our Cabana is gone, from sight anyway.

The storefront is about ready.

Ready for some pirates to come by and be robbed.

So that is our set up here are some other pirates that showed up as well.

My lady getting ready for a day of haggling.  With our shrunken giraffe Mortimor.

A russian soldier and a ship at dock in the background.

Pirates everywhere.

Our favorite customers they did not haggle well.

A very kid friendly event.

Could be trouble with these two.

And last but not least our treasure trove, make your mark and pick your treasure.

All in all we made expenses and a we bit more.  To much fun!!  Hope all enjoy, fair winds, Tony, Joy and Cool Paw Luke

Tony, Joy and Luke, thanks so much for sharing the pictures with us.  It looks like more fun than a person should have (I also see a lot of hard work in it too).  It is really only work if you don't like the results, otherwise it is all fun from start to end.
