When we traveled with kids, some things that helped were a few basic ground rules and CHORES each had to do each day such as take trash or help fill with water or stock the drinks in coolers etc etc and when we entered a camp they had to know our campsite and loop number etc BEFORE they ran off to play and finally use the buddy system so no one was ever alone. Once in Colorado we stopped at a rest area and I took off driving thinking the wife was in the bathroom, we drove down the road and I asked the son to check but he came back saying SHES NOT IN THERE OOPSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS LOL

Its fun with the kids but each having a job and responsibility helped all of us maintain our sanity
