Hi Everyone! I've had a rough summer, but am now trying to get back on my renovation projects. The exterior of Poco (see older posts) still looks great, even after sitting out in the heat of an Alabama summer. She is also purring like a contented kitty. Very happy with that!
My question is this - How do I remove the propane tank under my rig? It is a class C, 24 foot, and the propane is on the street side, front corner. There is access both through a drop down compartment door and from underneath. It is open under there.
I talked with an RV repair place and they wanted $300 to remove the tank and the old oven, plus keep the oven. I thought that was a little expensive, but I may be wrong.
Is removing the tank something I could do myself, with muscle help, of course?! I don't want the propane at all - plan to remove the oven and furnace and don't want the weight or the worry about the tank.
Has anyone here removed their tank? How do I make sure the valves are turned off? What do I do with it after I remove it? Is it recyclable? I just really do not have the money to spend paying someone to do something if I am able to do it myself, since I'm a single mom and every penny counts, but I don't want to get hurt or blow up the neighborhood!
Any advice would be appreciated! Please and thank you!
