I'm going to be heading out to work on the cabover this morning for a bit. Thunder in the distance, but it looks like it's going to roll north of me. Darn...need the rain here.
While I was having my cuppa's this morning I was looking around at upholstery fabrics. I thought I might stick with color schemes that go with the striping on the RV, blues and teals.
Here's a color combo choice I am mulling over, the dark plain color would be for the main seat cushions and the lighter patterned would be for the pillow backs and such. Let me know your thoughts if you like or no like. :) I'm not much of an interior design person, but I want something that's going to hold up well and be easy cleaning.....and cheap enough that I have spare fabric in case of a major tear or boo boo.
The patterned one has some other colors to it that I can compliment with other accessories too.

I kike both Tina, My favorite color is turquoise so I'm drawn to that realm. I like the contrast with the two fabrics. It's bright and welcoming not overbearing.
Thumbs up! Thank you!!!
I found a nice fabric store online. Prices are fair, you can buy sample pieces for $1.00 and they have lots of remnants WITH details about any flaws in the fabrics.
There is a huge variety. I'll be spending a few hours there, I'm sure. LOL
Here it is if you want to check it out:
LOVE the colors. I think your ideas will look awesome AND relaxing :-) The button covers should pop nicely! I have to figure out how to cover the snaps screwed into my cab roof - they are just weird. Guess they were for curtains (which I might still do if i can figure out the snap size) but I've also hoping to just figure out how to create little snap covers for them.
My couch and pillow backs have buttons, and I have a button cover kit that I can use to cover the buttons. Thinking of doing the buttons in the lighter color onto the dark color. I'll test that out on an old pillow first.
Thanks Lakota, this fabric is offered at JoAnn Fabrics. I have one here in town, so I'll be able to get a sample. I already tested out some fabric a friend had that he wanted to sell me. I got it in there and covered just the couch cushion. Stood back and looked, then left skid marks getting it out of there so fast! It was horrible. LOL Great suggestions. :)
Teal is my Fav,,, its very easy on the eyes and ads a pop wow feature. Heres a lil tid bit, when not sure of certain patterns and colors,, go to a fabric shop and see if you can get sample cuts,, little pieces around 2x2 inch and set them around the area your going to cover, a/ka. couch chair etc.
It allows your eyes to visualize a little easier with an actual fabric color in place.
If a fabric shop wont give you sample cuts,, check out construction paper that is the same color,, Its not an exact science, but it also serves as a visual aide. Remember back in jr. high physics class,, the eye only focuses on the most focal point of an object.
Just remember,,, Its YOUR Rig,, get whimsical, get creative, get all 70's wild child if you want,, Create something that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy, Your doing great Tina..
Thanks Russ, me too. Funny how things happen, Teal has always been my favorite color and this RV had teal blue/green written all over it. LOL
