hI,
WONDERING IF ANYBODY MIGHT KNOW SOME INFO. REGARDING A VIN WITH A STATE NAME IN IT. IS IT POSSIBLE THAT VIN HAS LESS THAN 17 NUMBERS?
STILL TRYING TO IDENTIFY WHAT KIND AND WHERE VIN MIGHT BE. TOOK OFF SOME PAINT AND FOUND A MYSTERY SET OF NUMBERS.
SO, ANY IDEAS. HOW ABOUT HOW TO REMOVE PAINT FROM FIBERGLASS, METAL, AND OTHER PARTS. JUST WANT TO DO THIS OR SELL. SCRAPPING JUST WILL BE ABOUT 40.00 AND OR A GARDEN TRAILER. NEAR CENTRAL. ILLINOIS.

Well we visited with a guy who restores vintage trailers and he told us that most numbers are on the tongue or in a cabinet. We told him we had a Rod and Reel camper but wasn't sure of the year but thought it was somewhere between 1952 and 1954. He said usually the first two letters will be the brand....the next two numbers will be the year.....the next two numbers will be the length and whatever you have left is usually the number your trailer is in that series. We came home and found ours. The number we found was: 52 1026. So we are assuming it is a 1952 10 ft frame and #26 for that year. Best explanation we have heard yet that we feel is accurate. Hope this helps. I posted a pic of the last camper we have acquired but could not find any numbers yet.
