Jay and Maggie, can you tell us what you learned from your first Gypsy camper build and what you are doing different on your second build? Also, we are curiou about what covering you are using and what looks like aluminum? under the top roof bows under the covering. Thanks! Looks sweet.

I am interested in your gypsy trailer project, it is very unique. It looks like it is turning out fantastic. I am curious though, what are your plans for the interior?

Ya'll are doing a fantastic job with that trailer - That has to be the coolest one I've seen in a long time.  I always liked rondesic homes - kinda' like picasso - who didn't have a 90 degree angle anywhere in his house.

Kevin,   GoodOldRVs is about anything members of our little old community here wants to post that is related to...dah, good old rvs of any type.

We are non commercial and don't do or take any advertising ( i recycle dumpster stuff to pay for the site) and are pretty sensative to watchin out for our members communication; meaning absolutely no spam!, rudeness or idiots. Other than that have at it as long as it is of interest to our community members.

Nice idea to restore rvs. There are so many out there waiting to be saved. Pete (see sierra trailer restoration) started out restoring aluminum skin bumper pull trailers and now has a flourishing customization/restoration business... kinda the "West Coast Customs" of aluminum bumper pulls.

So, enjoy the site and have some fun with it.  We don't care as long as it doesn't piss off any of our other members.

Keep on goin down the road... in a good old rv.               pat

I have a question...Being i'm new here, I was just wondering if this site is about buying, restoring, and flipping old classic trailers. The moderator left me a message and said she can't wait to see what I do next camper wise. I want to restore another trailer, however, I don't know when I will do the next one as I currently do not have a garage. I restored my Metzendorf outside(inbetween storms) and it was very difficult without cover. I would hate to look stupid that I have only my Metzendorf and no-other projects right now. I would like to start a business restoring old trailers, however, I don't know how long it will take to actually get something up and running as I lost my job 3 years ago in this economy. If anyone is waiting to see what I do next, it might be awhile,LOl!

Thank You, I have thought about creating a small business in restoring old campers, there are several around where I live that are just sitting and need attention. I think it would be fun to do.

What a beautiful park! It reminds me of when I was a kid, they were all over Northern Cali. Not anymore!
Just to let you know, all those big motorhomes and fifth wheels have NOTHING on you. YOUR trailer is what I would be drawn to.
Thanks for the video and pics, guys.

I love that look. We are uploading new pics of the inside of the camper as it is now. Just got some trim work to do. we are painting the outside now. Most of the stuff we did inside was yard sale finds that I could resew and make new again for cheap and I had the couch recovered with some nice fabric. cant wait to see your finished project. It is a slow job, isn't it???

Hi Jay, love what you are doing to your camper. I have not been on here for a long time. We are also working on an old travel trailer and I did a lot of painting inside. we were trying to not tear out everything. saved as much as we could and have made good progress. we are now in the process of painting the outside. That's a great shade of blue!!!!! It will be so cheerful. what are your plans for fabrics???
