HI1..yes Jim most of what I know on my starcraft rv,came straight from spartan..last year I got the build card from mr.todd Lahr..it's all I could have from him..nothing else recorded for those early years he said..this winter after several try..I finaly gotten hold with Charlie d.Fisher who 've sent me many documents like the ride height, how to measure it,,the spartan owner's manual etc...also got contact with Dewayne A.Miller..(both guy very gentle and patient) .he sent me circuits assign numbers sheet and  wiring diagram..specific to our RVS all on PDF..including airbags numb.and others..if you need and want this I can send all these emails & PDF back to you and as I said it,s all about the spartan chassis ,your the one whos got the part side of starcraft ...for the airbags on the emails take the numbers there is and go and type it on firestone cross reference if it's only the airbags you need  let me know....Now for the ride height on mine I'd wish you were gonna say something in regard of ...yes he's too high compare to yours lower and a better look to.....on your photo is the suspension up or down ,that makes a big difference 'cause if yours is up then as I always tought mine is ain't normal..I know the ride height has been touch all the way.and I'm working on it anyway soon I will make a little video and send it to you then we'll know more what to talk about.

tire size 11x22.5

psi.80 when I first bought it was 90 ,I droped it for getting smoother

PS: important ...how much pressure in your airbags and do you have an electric dump vale switch on your Dashboard... chow for now see you later...thanks again my friend....mike

one last thing..for the VHS will it be better to put on a USB key.....just wander

HI Jim!  wow..only 8 units, amazing.!!! they probably are the only motorhome builder that last for a so short time in business..

I found  the s/n for the spartan chassis but I did'nt for starcraft

the only thing I found is an idy plate screwed up the wall behind driver's seat and it's not identifyed to starcraft but under a digit number company and it shows the same starcraft s/n numb.

one more thing..how many front shocks on yours mine are 4 ..I wander if it's been buid like this or if someone added 2.....that is all for now...take care ....mike

I fastened the roof to the top rail frame under the curved side cap.  I used a 4" wide seam of 221 caulk, hex rubber sealed self drilling screws, and covered the top of the screws with sealant.  The roof has been subjected to heavy rain and snow with no leaks to date (3 years).  I did look at rolling the roof over the side however the attachment points on the side frame were spaced every 24".

Why did you choose to screw it on top?  I would think that will lead to leaking.  It's more work to bend it over the side, but probably less prone to leak, don't you think?  CM

Thank you for getting back to me.  I am very excited!

That'd be great about the literature etc.  I am hoping to buy it on Monday.  It is a 1990 Starcraft with 34k miles, new tranny 15k miles ago, new air bags and compressor, bushings etc.  Basically newly rebuilt rear end with shocks all around.  Interior looks mint.  Everything works except for automatic stairs and cruise control.  Hope they both are an easy fix.  Asking $7500.  No idea if it is fair, but seems very reasonable.  The roof looks very clean and solid (saw the extensive work you did on yours).  No leaks that I know of.  The guy gets the oil changed every year weather he uses it or not.  I noticed the back bedroom area only has 1 window on the 1990, drivers side.  The rear and passenger side walls are all mirrors.  The other difference is the kitchen is on the drivers side as is the blender and walk around to the bedroom.

There are a lot of RV's on the market right now, but yours is only the second of this kind that I have found.

Can you suggest anything I should look for in particular as you know this RV probably better than anyone!  How is the Ford engine?  How should I treat and maintain it?  How about the 5k watt Onan?  I have never owned an RV am a little intimidated as to driving her.

What you have done to yours is beautiful and inspiring.  After Monday I'll probably look into the brochures and DVD you have acquired which would be great-thank you again for reaching out.

Well, Jim. I really like the permanent fix you did and I was surprised that your total costs in are less than a rubber type roof; of course your dads shop and help I bet was priceless. Nice job and engourages more of our members to try the "aluminum solution"

Great idea and great work! Won't need to do THAT roof again! Wonder how the costs compared??
