I'm new to this site and to rving. I have started restoring/rebuilding this rv, we found a ton of water damage in the hangover and in the rear. The sub floor seems stout. But I have a few questions, first does any one know if the 78 dodge 440 had the hardend exhaust valves and seats? Also is the outside wood paneling necassary when i go back together or can I just hang the siding back on without it? And has anyone had good luck of painting the paneling?

We found a '77 440 dodge sportsman Class C in the palm springs area... I had to replace the front shocks and change wheels and tires from the 16.5" to 16" and that is about all ... we have driven it to TX on our way back home in SC. Good luck with Your project... Once we are home, I want to paint the out side and redo the dump valves and outlet... the only thing that has been changed is the fridge. the original died and the previous owner put in one of the mini fridges, A/C only... but it works ok... when traveling, we usually over night at a rv park, so we have power. do need a generator to truly go boondocking though...
