If anyone lives in Upstate New York and wants to come to the Sterling Renaissance Festival, they gave us a BUNCH of comp tickets to hand out. They are only good for the first three weekends though. The Festival starts this coming weekend! And if you don't live in upstate and want to travel, there are three campgrounds locally...and if you just want to stay one night in an RV, they will let you in the parking lot (dry camping/boondocking only).

We had a TOTAL do nothing day today! Aside from taking the doggos out 5 times, we did ZIP! Zero! Nada! A blissful day of total rest and relaxation! We watched a John Wayne movie, and a couple of other movies...and that was it. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh....
Kev
Awesome Jimco! Glad you liked the hat! Sorry it got dusty with dog hair sitting in the shelf...lol!
Give Beau some BIG Uncle Kevin ear and chest scratches and belly rubs...and most importantly, give Lydia some big hugs from both me and Patti! We miss you guys already!
Kev
Hey Kev. It was good to see Pattie and you again. Thanks for helping with the job of installing new screening on my porch. Just love the porch upgrades but the great new hat you gave me is even better. People are talking to me about it and shaking my hand.
WOW what a long day! We saw Niagara Falls...and MAN was it busy...and it was a weekday! Then we were going to drive part way to Sterling, NY, but there was no where to stop for the night along the way we took. The only Walmart said "no overnight parking", there were NO truck stops or pull offs along NY-104 East...and by the time we saw ANY signs for campgrounds, we were only 20 miles away from the campground we had a reservation at for the duration of the Sterling Renaissance Faire.
So yeah...we got an early start this morning, drove on mostly byways to avoid the tolls, arrived at Niagara Falls parking lot 3 only to be told we had to disco the Jeep if we wanted to park there (which we did), we saw the falls and took some pictures...and then drove ALL the way to Sterling, NY to the Sterling Creek Campground, and since we were early, they put us in a temporary site for a day or two until they finish laying down the gravel in our site. It was dark by the time we were settled in.
LONG day!
Kev
We had a great visit with our friends Jimco and Lydia...and their awesome doggo Beau!!! We are now back on the road! We are staying the night at a Flying J in Ashtabula, OH...and will get an early start tomorrow taking back roads to Niagra Falls!
Kev
So here are some pics to keep you going of the genny frame repair and install. All pictures were taken by Jimco, who did most of the actual work. Thanks again Jimco!
Here is me, inside the compartment cleaning the sealant away from areas that need to be welded.
And me inside the compartment, still doing more prep work...with the genny on a dolly ready to install:
Here are the perfect welds laid by my friend. Outstanding job, and WAY stronger than the horrible factory setup.
Up up it goes! Slowly but surely!!! Little by little with jack stands...safety first!
And its in! This is me tightening the last bolts!
I checked the propane lines for leaks, and its all good! I rewired it all in, and it started right up. Still doesn't put out AC voltage, but that is because of a bad control board, which will be replaced soon when we get to Sterling Renfaire and have an income coming in again.
That's it for now!
Kev
The generator mounts are re-welded back in place...WAY better than the factory setup, thanks to my friend Jimco who is an expert welder. Thank you SO MUCH Jimco!!!
And we got the generator back up in place and bolted in no problem...and after hooking up the propane lines and checking them for leaks, and hooking up all the wires, it starts and runs perfect! And it sure as heck isn't going to fall out again! Thank you once again Jimco...and your awesome wife Lydia! You are so dear to us and we are eternally grateful always for your help and your hospitality...and for just being the totally awesome people you are!!! We love you guys!
It still doesn't put out AC voltage because of the bad control board...but I'll replace the control board when we get up to Sterling Renfaire and start making some money again.
Pictures coming eventually...lol! Just gotta set up a Postimage account and get all my pictures over there!
Another day or two visiting in this quiet idyllic paradise...and then we'll be back on the road to Niagra Falls, and then Sterling, NY!
Kev
Safe touchdown at Jimco and Lydia's place, and we are all set up in camp. We had a really nice visit with them today, and look forward to a couple of more days with our awesome friends!
