On a similar page.... I've not replaced the actual starter solenoid but would be scratching my head about it since the coach battery appeared to get it to go. I've tested the isolator and it's good. Replacing those small autobreakers next to it in case one went bad and is preventing the chassis circuit from closing.
I'll work on it, one step at a time to eliminate and isolate the issue....

Daniel, ifffffffffff the engine battery is good but it requires a boost (house battery or a jumper) to crank the engine fast/good enough to start it, Im thinking a starter solenoid or a starter problem. I don't see that as lightning related but how do I know sitting here lol NOTE Im assuming the vehicles electrical start switching and engagement all works, but its cranks too slow or not at all unless its jumped IF IT DOESN'T DO ANYTHING UNLESS THE HOUSE BATTERY IS IN THE CIRCUIT that's a…

It can depend on any mechanical or solid state dual battery isolators or solenoids (for charging and house to engine battery emergency jumping) that might be in the system.
Had the local shop do a load test, it passed. Now onto and under the RV to find just what is either shorted or shot. Wondering if the close lightning strike had anything to do with it..... We had one hit the neighbor's tree and blew it in half a couple of weeks ago. That was about 40 feet away. Thanks!

Many auto parts stores and especially any battery suppliers (Interstate, Batteries Plus, etc) will perform a Load Test for free but the battery needs to be charged. However, I'm sure they could charge it (if you're not able to correctly) if needed and then perform a Load Test. Is the water level above the plates in each cell ??? Do you know if the battery charger you're using is working right ?? A full charged lead acid battery at rest and stabilized should read around 12.6 Volts. If you jump…

If you jump the engine battery with a good battery and good set of jumper cables will it start then?? If so but NOT otherwise and/or it starts if your house batteries are connected, it may just be shot, assuming its not some other problems like a bad cable or connection or ground, check all of those as a bad cable or bad terminal can cause problems even with a good battery....
