When I have taught people to back any kind of trailer up, I have taken them to a back side of a parking lot and have them practice basic backing up and such, then I put Milk bottles or 2 liter soda  bottle full of water and have them practice manuvering around them and backup up between them like parrellel parking. I would also have them make turns using the bottles as Obstructions such as a curb or sign etc, and they learn to swing a little bit wider in turns,, left and right turns.   Ya put yur hand at the bottom of steering wheel and what ever way your hand is going,,THATS the direction the trailer is going.

I prefer 5th wheels cuz you can jack knife a bit tighter and almost on a dime and still have 9 cents change.

Unreal. And it was sped up! I don't have a lot of experience towing stuff. When I returned a trailer to U-Haul recently the attendant quickly realized I was in over my head trying to back the trailer into a tight space. I happily let him get in my truck to do it for me. You have to accept your limitations sometimes!
