Remodeled 1984 Winnebago Chieftain

We purchased a 1984 Winnebago Chieftain in August of 2010. We decided to change a couple of things.....well that is a slippery slope and here we are now!

Thank you! We are definitely proud of our investment. It has already brought us countless family memories with many more to come.

Absolutely worth it! We worked tirelessly for about the first 9 months. After that we have continued to do small projects on it for the roughly four years that we have owned it. Last week I just finished installing a long awaited cruise control. We have no regrets because we plan on owning it for at least 10 years, but the cost can easily get out of hand, so I would recommend a project outline and develop a budget. Price everything and do tons of research before you spend a penny on anything. Many items new are cheaper than used or refurbished. For example we were going to have our furniture reupholstered by a friend of the family. His prices were by far better than other quotes we got, but in the end we saved over a thousand dollars by purchasing new furniture. You Tube and forums will be a huge asset as well. I fixed anything that has needed it and only replaced items as a absolute last resort. Also, do pretrip inspections a couple of weeks before every trip. On something this old there is always something that needs attention. If you have any question please contact me, you will needed all the resources that you can get, lol.

Regards, Chris.

We were extremely excited to see your photos.  We are hoping to get the exact make and model of RV. We know it will take some so he elbow grease but it looks like it was worth it.

How long did it take you to do the remodel?
