Vintage Yellowstone camper, and metal art.

January 24, 2015

I began to write this blog so I can share my experience of rebuilding my Vintage 60's Yellowstone Camper. My plan is to post videos and pictures of my progress.

One day as I was peacefully ejoying my quiet retired life, my son came home and decided we needed to clean out the garage! We ended up with a large pile of scrap we didn’t know what to do with. Chris got creative and started welding pieces together creating beautiful art. That looked pretty interesting so I gave it a try. That is where "LUCE CUSTOM CREATIONS" got started. We turn scrap metal into art. We now go to Arts and Craft Shows to sell our projects. Most of the shows that we go to are out of town and last a few days. So when Chris and I saw this nice Vintage Camper we knew we had to have it. Not only will it be a great fixer upper project, it will be very useful when complete. We will be able to use it to transport our crafts to the shows and stay in it as well.

I was going to use the camper restoration as my winter project, only to find out I can not get it to fit through the garage door.

I do not like cold weather! Yes, I live in North Central Pennsylvania and I should be used to it. Doesn’t mean that I like it!!! I did get started on the restoration in November. Most of the interior is now gutted. Since I can’t be out working on it, I have been doing some research and found out it will be more intense than I anticipated.

My goal is to have it complete by July for our first four day show in August. I am still working on the floor plan for the interior. Looks like I won’t be bored anytime soon, as I still have to build up the inventory of metal art before our first one day show in April.

OH yes, back to the reason for this blog... If I can only get my wife away from her "candy crush" game long enough to take some pictures and a video for me I will get that posted.

Thanks

Larry
