It's not pretty, but it's so cool!

1978 Dodge Cruise Master-Sportsman edition.

The miles are a little on the high side 93,000 but the way this thing started right up and drove like a beast down the road... there's no way we can pass this deal up.

So far it looks super sturdy, we didn't see any soft spots or mold. YAY!

Nice bunk bed for the kids. Nice bathroom with a small tub.

All the stuff that needs fixing I believe is simply cosmetic... i'm so excited to get this thing in my driveway. Wish us luck as we hire a mechanic to inspect it.

This is a great way to travel...not too big or too small. But, as has been said. It's all about the mechanics!!! The visual stuff is easy and fun to do but if you have mechanical problems you may just get to do driveway camping!

Thanks... that's great advice. And we're totally new, so things like the axle oil level might have slipped our attention.

good luck...93K is not really very high.  Just remember reliability comes from little things: change all of the belt, hoses, plugs..check the water pump.  Change the oil, twice (once now, once in 500-1000 miles), then resume every 3-7 thousand or whatever you believe in.  Check the axle oil level, have the transmission fluid changed and have a GOOD brake job done.   Find a small trustworthy garage/mechanic and stay away from dealers and you'll be rolling trouble-free for a long time.  When I put an older beast back into service, I spare no dollar on brakes: new flexible hoses (usually 3, 2 front, 1 rear), NEW master Cylinder, New wheel cylinders in rear and sometimes even new calipers and rotors...Gotta stop, don't mind breaking down or not starting near as much
