Makes it easy to lift the 5th wheel hitch in and out of the truck.
Comment
Harbor freight has them... I caught this one on sale.
Just 4 bolts in the rear quarter of the bed. When the rain lets up I will crawl underneath and snap some pics. I use a ratchet strap to wrap around what Im lifting and can lift what I need.
Was listed at $89. and with coupon was $49.... and to me its worth a thousand bucks.
What else ya need to know. Mike?
Lakota Wolf - tells us more. Thanks ~ Mike
4 bolts go thru the corner of the bed and they have 1/4 inch angle iron to spread the stress out.
Dodge is the ONLY truck in the instructions that can't be mounted as directed,, a little ingenuity cutting and figuring the under side support angle is needed. They have heavier duty truck cranes but they sit way above the bedside,(not good when towing a 5th wheel). Took me about an hour to install it and it has saved my back numerous times... It does all the work.
Besides using it to lift the 5th wheel hitch, I use it to lift my tool cabinets into the back, or even swing the crane out and load the tool chests into the other truck. Im to old and crippled up to be lifting......BTW... less then $100
Interesting set up. I can see a time when that would be worth having. I am wondering if it is a permanent mount? ~Mike
