Thank you for the nice welcome and wonderful advice Rich! I never even thought about the ZDDP, thank you! And you're so right about those tires, I was thinking that they LOOK just fine, but better replace them before I regret it. When I put insurance on him she told me I had full coverage if it were to break down on the road, I asked "You don't have a crystal ball do you? But, does that include tires?" lol  I'll just replace them then I don't have to worry.

Anyway, if I'm going to do it right he is probably not going to see a campsite this year, just way too big of a project. I haven't even started on the generator. Going to follow your advice and go through all of the fluids first today, and replace both batteries. (I see needing second job in my near future) My inexpensive camper is turning into "I should've just bought a new retro version"! But then I wouldn't have my new friends on this wonderful site! Thank you again Rich for the great advice. :)

Hi Rich!! We had a 19 foot 1994 Slumber Queen and drove to and from the east coast of Mexico in 2007-8. We just bought an 18 foot 1981 Taurus which needs LOTS of tlc and repairs....a work in progress. But it will be wonderful when she is done!!!

Thank you Rich for the welcome.  And that's a great idea about cutting the back and shortening it up.  I still want to use the drop down for the bed but a coupe of inches won't matter on that. I'm looking forward to this and will take pictures as work progresses.

I will try to post pics as I go. Spent last night just looking through the manuals and receipts on what he had done. I'm pretty happy with it

Thanks Rich. They are pretty cool inside too.I will try to keep as original as I can. While starting to clean out the inside I found the original manuals and advertisement.

Thanks for the welcome Rich. I saw that post by "Blaze" regarding the Scenics at Tejas coachworks. That's what prompted me to join the site. I do love early trailers. We have a 1967 Aloha 12' that we use for camping. I am trying to upload a 285KB JPEG for my profile photo, but it does not seem to work. I keep getting an error message. Thoughts? Take care

Tom
