We are all nuts Richard, you have to be to take on ownership of these relic's but there is satisfaction in restoring and maintaining these things, The main thing is to lay down a plan and do it in stages. Complete one stage at a time and move on. Don't try to jump in and leave a bunch of loose ends because you never see where you've been and it is easy to get down right discussed and then loose interest. If you need a little encouragement from time to time stop and take a breath and hit the web site, take a look around at what others have done and the things they have had to undertake to complete a project. Ask for help or get on the chat and start a conversation. This site has a lot of great people that like to jump in and help out but remember it is an RV site and the participation vary;s with the season. Even those whom aren't experts at anything may have experienced something you could use to help move your project along. It's nice to see folks trying to preserve the past with these great old relics and when you do go out and actually use them they generate a lot of interest. And, yes it's not always good but when you park next to that modern TV, Stereo, Wet Bar, toting rolling Mc Mansion and every one is stopping at your door asking about your awesome bare bones better built camper, well that's pretty darn cool. good luck on your project.
