I have finally found that elusive drip leak in the ceiling.A tiny mounting screw in the roof vent to secure the dome cover.Imagine that?

I didnt even think the mounting screws for the areo dome's mounting brackets to leak. I installed the dome covers so I could open the vents ,even if it was raining... They do work, minus where the brackets mount. They are screwed into the side of the vent sides and Im assuming with the high winds we have had, it vibrated the dome cover and wobbled the screws loose enough for water to sneak up there and dribble in. I took the domes off, sealed up the 4 screw holes and the same night,, had a good rain and everything was dry and no drips,(keeping fingers crossed). There has to be a better way to mount those domes besides screwing them into the sides of the original vent cover frames. We will have to ponder that idea.. Just need to find a brighter lighbulb to put above the head.

Lakota, I had the exact same drip last year. I must have missed it when I resealed it a couple years ago and it had just started to leak. It never leaked before that or since but it was a little upsetting when it dripped down the back of my neck. luckily it must have just started when I found it because there was no trace of a prior leak. I just put a little square piece of eternal bond on it and good to go. Glad you found yours!
