Roof Repair

I am renovating a small travel trailer, a Coachmen Cadet. The aluminum roof needs repair.  It seems the previous opener didn’t deal with leaks in a timely fashion. I have gutted the interior. Many wood frame pieces are being replaced. The roof seems to sag between the wood supports, so water sits in the dips. This has to be sorted out. Perhaps more supports? Any idea, what is better: a membrane covering, or to have it sprayed with that poly stuff. Right now roof is rough, it seems to have some sort of tar or rubber on it, that looks like it’s been flaking off for years.  I would really appreciate some advise, I am very handy, but as this is my first project of this sort I would love some perspective.

We have a 2004 R-Vision 21' with a sheet rubber roof... my first experience with one.  It's original and sealed well with no apparent leakage. It's about 3/32" thick, one piece, sealed at the edges and around a/c unit, etc. with a rubber like caulking compound. If you can find a source of this material it may give you an option compared to aluminum sheet... lots quieter when it rains, and it gives with motion.

Looks like somebody attempted to seal your roof with roofing tar or something similar... you don't have many components on top... maybe consider putting a new sheet of aluminum right over this one? You would have to make the existing roof flat prior to applying the new sheet, but attempting to remove this one may cause more damage to the roof framework depending on how they stuck it down. Not sure what else to suggest, maybe other members have had a similar experience...
