My Space Age trailer was manufactured April 1969. Does your dad have any of the old company records, particularly the first and last VIN numbers for the various years they were manufactured? Can you post any photos of his 1967 Space Age?
Shiela,
I have just purchased a Space Age travel trailer, perhaps a 1969?
I'm trying to learn more about the company, and see if I can find any photos, brochures, etc. particularly for that year.
Thanks!
Rick
It would possibly help if you have a picture of yours. I own a 1965 Space Age travel trailer. Most of my brochures from my Dad are for the slide in truck campers. I do have some for the travel trailers.
There should be a VIN number and a two-digit month and year stamped into the passenger-side of the tongue near where the hitch is attached. My Space Age travel trailer was manufactured in April 1969.
Stephen,
Do you possible have photos of your Space Age travel trailer available? I just bought one, I think also a '69. I hope to restore it to original condition.
Rick
Space Age was bought in 1969 by Coachmen Industries. A few months later, it was moved to a plant on the Coachmen complex in Middlebury. The brand disappeared a few years later. I was working for Coachmen's advertising division at the time and wrote an advertising brochure for Space Age. They were nice looking trailers.
