Spent the past 2 years and fully rebuild 2 vintage teardrop trailers. Down to my final rebuild which is a very rare 1936 Kaycraft Kampster. Enjoy camping in our teardrop, boating on Lake Pend O'Rielle and riding my XBones Harley. Livin' the good life.

1936 Kaycraft kampster

I am very close to beginning a complete restoration of a vintage 1936 Kaycraft kampster.  Last year I restored a 47 KIT (since sold) and the year before I restored a 56 Benroy which I still own.  Because the Kaycraft is so unique (ie, canvas external skins) I am looking to connect with anyone who might be familiar with this teardrop trailer or may even own one.  I have attached a few photos for your interest.  Thank you in advance if you can provide any contact information.  Debra

Yes, I actually aquired it through the same woman you were trying to get it from here in grass valley ca where I live, it looks as though someone tried to patch it up and painted the poor thing so there are no discernable badges on it but it is the same size, same bones, layout and everything about it that's still original and intact leads me to believe that in fact it is a kaycraft but just horribly neglected!! The one good thing is the interior and "kitchenette" are still in amazing shape considering I found it under a pine tree uncovered and it has obviously been there for many many years!!! I must say I am a huge fan of yours & you are a tremendous inspiration to me with the restoration of all your beautiful teardrops!!!! I was blown away when the woman I bought this trailer from had told me you called wanting it, I have followed your magazine articles and tv spot just prior to my acquiring this beauty!! Feel free to call me if you would like (530) 913-0928
I'm sooo sorry it took me so long to respond, this project had been temporarily set aside due to my career but I hope to start tearing into her this spring!!

Welcome to GORV Debra. We used to live in Idaho and two of our three kids were born in Idaho Falls. I know I have heard of Hope, Idaho but I am not sure where that is at. I am assuming it is in Northern Idaho.

I would love to see your teardrop that you have been restoring when you get a minute. Welcome again Debra.
