1987 Southwind Plumbing Leak

We purchased a 1987 33' Southwind from the original owner.  There are some serious water leaks.  Not sure it it's plumbing or something else.  At times wet spots appear on the carpet-serious wet spots.  Don't know where to start looking.  How do we access the plumbing on this unit?  Any other suggestions?

Thanks for the info and questions.  There is often no identifiable cause.  Last weekend we had water below the carpet in the galley and the step coming into the RV was saturated.  It had not rained and there was no sink or faucet leaks.  The next day it rained all day but no water spots that day.  We know there is a leak at the hookup point for city water so we don't use that.  We use the on board storage tank and only have the pump on when we need water which seems to have worked.  The trouble with repairing leaks with one of these is access.  My main question is, if we pull up the carpet will we be able to find access points in the flooring or did they just seal everything up when they built it.  We've asked Southwind dealer to advise us but they have not been forthcoming.

As pat Daly mentioned, backtracking is the key, You might have to pull some carpet up and follow the wet trail. Rv lines DO crack,split,blow seals and O-rings etc. A method of divide and conquer is a method of where the wet spots are and on board 12 volt water pump,and holding tank. Point A to point B  so to speak. My folks had a 90' Southwind and the dealer and manufacture were of no help. the dealer wanted to rip all the flooring up and tear out a few walls, at a nice $45 an hr labor charge. My folks water leak was a cracked fitting at the Y pipe from front kitchen sink to back bathroom. Ya just hafta get your hands dirty and think it out before you tear walls apart.
