Hi Manny, I'm guessing that the 460 is a Ford, and I am not familiar with this particular engine.  Your question leaves a lot open, what have you checked?  Does the engine even turn over when you turn the key?  Have you checked the coii?  Is there a spark at the points?  The more info you put out there, the better chance someone here can help.

Manny, I am guessing that the engine cranks over. If it does you need to pull the Distributor Cap and see if the rotor bug turns. If it does you will need to see if there is power to the coil. If there is power to the coil you need to put the cap back on and pull the coil wire and crank the engine over. leaving the coil wire about a 1/2 an inch above the terminal. If there is still no spark, you probably have a bad Ignition Module. The Ignition Module is located on the Distributor and is bolted to the Distributor housing. It is sometimes easier to pull the Distributor to remove the Module. It takes a special tool to remove the Module from the Distributor. You can buy this tool at any O'rielys for under $25.00. you can also take the Module in to the O'rileys and they can test it for you. If you have any Q's email me back, I;'ll try and help you.

hi big mike.

got to work on the rv. replaced coil and ignition module.. still no spark put  a new battery in 700 cca but it does not turn over very fast should i get a bigger battery?  any ideas on my next step..maybe iignition switch?thanks manny

there are 3 batteries 1 12 volt and 2 6 volts do the 2 6 volts batteries assit in the starting of the motor?

The 2 6-volt batteries will be wired in series to produce 12-volt current for the coach lights and other equipment. Two 6-volts actually give slightly more hours of use than two 12-volts wired in parallel.

The remaining 12 volt battery will be the engine battery. It should not have any other draw other than the starter -- however in my Pace Arrow there were indeed a couple other things drawing from the engine battery.

i disconnected the 12 volt and i still drew juice from the 2 6 volt not enough to turn engine 1 of the 6 volts is bad..

i have a 460 engine with c6 trans someone change the eec computer out not sure if right one was put in to get one i seen to need the model off the orignal which i dong have driveing me nuts trying to get the info..

The safer way to test for spark is with a inductive timing light.  Clip it on any plug wire or the coil wire to test for spark.  Just a zapppy thought, Tony, Joy and Cool Paw Luke

Yeah, I guess that takes all the fun out of diagnostics. but that works also. just that alot of people don't have a good timing light with the inductive pick up feature. and for safety. the ignition system on a vehicle will only give you a little bite. unless it has a magneto on it. it more or less scares the $#!% out of ya. I still think there is an Ignition Module problem with this coach. and by the way Tony, thanks you seem to know your stuff also.     Big Mike

thanks for the replys...i have the rv up in ny. i will be up there tomorrow and will start to work on it...i willl get back to you and let you know how it goes...thanks manny

i would love to help so lets establish how you know that your not getting spark ,how did you come to this conclusion?lf i had to just flat out guess i would say rotor or module on a 91 ford 460 but it could also be a bad battery ground.as for spark to plugs is the key on while cranking is power passing through the switch? if you have a tach, does it move while cranking does the coil have power coming in? spark coming out to cap?is your rotor turning?does it line up on tdc on 0? module is located on the side of the distributor i suggest having an auto parts store check it before you replace it.how long since your last major tune up?does it have fuel?Is the air cleaner plugged? Please be more specific as you are only leaving me with more questions for your answer.

hi.. had to replace starter it was bad..getting spark from coil to distributor but it is a weak spark..pulled ignition switch got a new one will install tomorrow. you think the switch would give me a weak spark? any toughts? thanks manny
